Milimani Beach Resort is located at a remote place in Dunga. An area comprises wetlands, papyrus reeds, and fishing activities. CBD concrete hotels can never offer what this place offers; here you get to experience the real ecosystem of Lake Victoria. Just a short walk (or 2 minutes’ drive) away is the ever-bustling Dunga Beach Co-operative where boats for tours across different parts of the lake may be hired fresh fish bought or simply watch as fishermen bring in their catch for the day-all these happen amidst serious birdwatching since this area harbors rare species such as that Papyrus Gonolek.

For a change of pace just down the road is Dunga Hill Camp. A large lawn, music and a younger crowd make this cold beer venue socializing spot if the resort feels too quiet. However, heading back toward town (about 3 km) brings one to Kisumu Impala Sanctuary. The small wildlife preserve contains impalas and zebras as well as leopards in cages but most importantly offers a beautiful walking trail along the lake-an easy half-day excursion from the hotel.
